2017 Solar Eclipse, Pearl River County, MS This is what an eclipse looks like filtered through the trees overhanging a canvas gazebo. Many people notice that the light "feels" different during an eclipse. I used to think it was because it was dimmed. But that didn't make sense to me because the sun is often dimmed by clouds and other obstructions. The difference during an eclipse is that the SHAPE of the light is altered by the moon.
